Lithonia Library a Lively Learning Experience

Miss Veronica had scheduled Parrot Productions for the second time in her small meeting room for the summer program offered by DeKalb County Library. Last year, the meeting room was packed and this year it was again at capacity. The children loved watching the birds and Albert faithfully donned the saddle and walked the female Eclectus up and back down the middle aisle. At the end of the presentation, the children all used wipes to remove any germs they might transfer to the birds and proceeded to hold and even cuddle a bird of their choice. Award winning smiles and serious pride were displayed as each child posed for pictures with Max (who looks like "Rio") and Cash and Lucy and Paddy and Elliot.

All the children were on their very best behavior and waited patiently for their turn to hold a bird. They all placed their used wipes as directed and were respectful and careful of the parrots. And no one forgot about Albert, the Great Dane. He was lovin' every minute of all those hands petting him too.

What joy I receive when there are such well behaved children enjoying my little presentation with these pets of mine. How I feel we shine.

A special thanks here to Gavin Cox, my best friend who helped out with this show. He brought his own parrot, Paddy, a Black Capped Conure, who also stepped up and allowed children to hold him. Gavin will be 8 years old this year and Paddy is only one year old. Thanks again Gavin for being my helper. I could not have done it without you!
